Farming at Arley 1750-1753

The archives were the source for Part 3 of Cheshire Cheese and Farming, pp 49 - 76, where the basic farming operations and their costs are described. After this period growing grain on the Arley demesne lands became a less common event.

The scans reproduced below show farm accounts 1750 - 1753 from Thos. Done's Ledger and time sheets of the labourers 1749/50 to 9 Sep 1751 with descriptions of the work done.
